Open Monday-Thursday 10 a.m. - 8:30 p.m., Friday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Whiton Branch Saturday hours start on January 5, 2020 through March 28, 2020. The library will open from 9am - 5pm.

The Manchester Public Library will be closed on Monday, February 17, 2020 for President's Day.

The Manchester Public Library provides books and other materials and services desired by community members in order to meet their needs for information, creative use of leisure time, and life-long education. The library emphasizes individual service, especially to children, and serves as a focal point for interaction among the diverse residents of the community.

Driver Education Program

Includes CT-specific information: 11 car practice tests, 9 motorcycle practice tests, 10 CDL practice tests, 3 driver's manuals (car, motorcycle, CDL) and an FAQ section with detailed answers to 100+ DMV-related questions.


Bookmobile Delivery Service

This service is available to Manchester residents. You can have a visit from the Bookmobile monthly. Please call the Mary Cheney Library (860-643-2471) to request service.

The Friends of the Manchester Public Library is a non-profit, non-political volunteer organization. It is the responsibility of the Friends to administer funds raised, donated, granted or endowed to secure materials that are beyond the scope of the library budget.
